ACCESS Family Care is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Scribe to join our healthcare team in Joplin, MO. The role supports providers by accurately documenting patient encounters and EMR entries, with a focus on efficiency and confidentiality.

The position is part-time, with scheduled Tuesdays and Wednesdays, offering hands-on healthcare experience in a busy clinical setting and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology strongly preferred.
• Prior medical scribe, medical assistant, healthcare, or medical office experience preferred.
• Strong computer and typing skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Professional communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Accurately document patient visits in real time during medical appointments.
• Enter patient histories, physical exam findings, assessments, and treatment plans into the EMR.
• Review charts for completeness and accuracy.
• Assist providers with retrieving laboratory, imaging, and other patient information.
• Document orders, referrals, and follow-up instructions as directed by the provider.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Support clinic workflow to improve patient care and provider productivity.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
