Job summary

Golden San Andreas Care Center is seeking a Part-Time Medical Records Assistant to support the organization, maintenance, and accuracy of resident medical records. This position works closely with nursing and interdisciplinary teams to ensure records are complete, organized, and available when needed for resident care.

You will collaborate with nurses and care teams to maintain timely, accurate documentation while safeguarding patient privacy in compliance with HIPAA requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Healthcare, long-term care, or medical records experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA requirements is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and maintain resident medical records per facility procedures.
• Assist with admission paperwork and other records tasks.
• Keep records open/closed organized and accessible for care.
• Help with chart audits and ensure documentation is up to date.
• Review records for physician orders, vitals, weights, summaries.
• Retrieve and re-file records as requested.
• Maintain forms at nursing stations and provide records to authorized personnel.
• Uphold HIPAA privacy and security standards.
• Communicate documentation concerns to care teams.
• Perform other medical records and administrative duties as assigned.
