Simple Laboratories in Chicago seeks a Part Time Medical Laboratory Tech (MT) or MLS licensed per ASCP/AMT to perform moderate/high complexity testing in Humboldt Park. The role requires leadership, troubleshooting, and instrument maintenance with QA responsibilities.

The position emphasizes HIPAA compliance, CLIA/OSHA adherence, and staff training, with a focus on delivering accurate clinical data and high-quality results in a fast-paced lab environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology from an accredited program.
• MLS/MT (ASCP) or AMT licensure; meets CLIA high complexity requirements.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a high complexity lab.
• Strong leadership, mentoring and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Determines specimen acceptability according to established criteria.
• Performs routine and complex procedures per SOPs and QC requirements.
• Makes technical decisions, troubleshoots issues as they occur.
• Maintains results accuracy and instrument functionality; documents QC.
• Trains and develops departmental staff; supports coworkers.
• Manages LIS workflows and validates new reagents and controls.
• Contributes to SOPs and competency training modules.
• Communicates critical results per HIPAA guidelines.
• Leads department in supervisor's absence; ensures safe work environment.
