Job summary

Trinity Health Ann Arbor is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist/MLS for the Core Lab on the evening shift (3:30pm–12am). This full-time role offers a $8,000 sign-on bonus and supports a 40-hour work week with comprehensive benefits.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or MLS, with ASCP/NCLS certification preferred. Experience in a medical lab is required if the MLS/MT degree is not held. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology or MLS from an accredited college or university; transcripts submitted at application.
• Experience in a medical laboratory is required if MLS/MT degree not obtained.
• ASCP, MLT/MLS, or NCLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Record and/or enter laboratory computer results and flag unusual results for supervisor review.
• Report stat and highly abnormal or unexpected results promptly per policies.
• Compare current results with prior patient results and alert supervisor if fluctuations occur.
• Perform quality control, calibrate and operate laboratory equipment for the assigned section.
• Notify personnel of problems such as unacceptable specimens or equipment malfunctions per policy.
• Prepare standards, reagents, and testing materials.
• Coordinate with nursing units or client offices regarding results and clarifications.
