Job summary

Pinnacle GI Partners in Troy/Macomb is seeking a part-time Medical Receptionist to support front desk operations, schedule appointments, and manage patient information across locations.

The role requires a high school diploma, knowledge of medical terminology, CPT and ICD-9 coding, and preference for CPR certification and prior medical office experience. Candidates must pass background and drug screening; occasional travel between locations is required. Training is provided.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and CPT and ICD-9 coding.
• Previous front office experience in a medical practice environment, preferred.
• Current CPR certification preferred.
• Must successfully pass a background check and a drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Answers the telephone, triages calls appropriately and takes messages when needed
• Obtains and verifies patient demographic and financial information
• Answers questions as able, referring clinical questions to RNs or Clinical Coordinator
• Enters/verifies patient information in the computer system
• Completes all necessary insurance information
• Schedules follow-up appointments, outpatient procedures and tests and makes referrals to physicians as necessary
• Requests medical records/reports from referring physicians
