Job summary

MaineHealth Primary Care - Family and Internal Medicine in Norway, ME is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient flow, med refills, lab entry, and chart abstraction. The ideal candidate is compassionate, adaptable, and team-oriented to thrive in our care setting.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, assisting with endoscopy follow-ups, and maintaining accurate lab data while collaborating with the care team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred with 160 hours of clinical MA experience, or 6 months of MA program clinical experience, or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice.
• Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification required; MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and MaineHealth employment as MA in last 5 years may be exempt from certification.
• Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
• Six months of MA experience or one year as MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant.
• No additional required qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and prepare them for examinations.
• Complete medication refills and manage follow-ups from endoscopy procedures.
• Input labs and abstract charts.
• Collaborate with care team in a fast-paced, adaptive healthcare environment.
