Job summary

Penobscot Community Health Center is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to support the primary care team at our Bangor, ME location. You will assist providers, prepare patients, manage chart reviews, and support pre-visit planning to ensure efficient, high-quality visits.

The role emphasizes compassionate, collaborative care within a community health setting. OSHA-based safety practices and patient-centered workflows are integral to daily operations.

Qualifications

• Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Required: Medical Assistant training including essential functions or MA Certification.
• BLS certification before or within 2 weeks of hire is required if not current.
• Initial and maintained certification encouraged and supported.

Responsibilities

• Support primary care team by assisting providers with patient care and visits.
• Manage clinical requests and pre-visit planning.
• Prepare patients, room exams, administer vaccines, draw blood, and process labs.
• Conduct chart reviews and manage medication refills.
• Ensure quality standards and clinic compliance.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to improve patient experience.
