Job summary

Brigham and Women's Hospital is seeking a 32-hour Medical Assistant to support our Mass General Brigham internal medicine office in Scituate, MA. The role is onsite Monday through Thursday from 9:00am to 5:30pm, supporting a small practice with essential clinical and administrative duties.

The position involves taking vital signs, assisting with patient care, scheduling, and patient flow, with opportunities to perform phlebotomy and immunization tasks as competency allows.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s Degree in Medical Assisting preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and prepare examination rooms, take vital signs and document in the medical record.
• Schedule appointments and manage patient flow; assist healthcare providers as needed.
• Explain procedures and medications; provide patient education materials.
• Perform phlebotomy and collect specimens when competent; ensure proper labeling and handling.
