Qualifications include a completed Medical Assistant program (phlebotomy), High School diploma or GED, and BLS certification. Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork are essential to deliver high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program including phlebotomy training.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certifications: NCCT CMA or CMA from AMCA or CCMA from NHA or RMA from AMT or CMA from AAMA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association.
• Complete Kaiser Permanente MA competencies within 60 days.
• Effective interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with applicable computer software.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
• Maintain certifications and annual CEUs per CLIA/licensing requirements.

Responsabilités

• Assist the physician in delivering comprehensive medical care in ambulatory clinics.
• Prepare the patient for the medical examination.
• Perform rooming, screening, and patient histories for the appropriate population.
• Perform assigned clinical tasks and/or procedures.
• Set up patient for virtual visit in clinic.
• Turn over room following patient visit.
• Serve as chaperone for exams if requested by patient.
• Assist with scheduling follow-up appointments as recommended by the physician.
• Perform clinical tasks/procedures under physician supervision.
• Notify physician of patients in distress.
• Document all care in KP HealthConnect.
• Help monitor patient flow to minimize wait times and improve experience.
• Assist with inventory and stocking of supplies.
• Engage positively with Kaiser Permanente members and staff.
• Monitor refrigerated medications under physician supervision.
• Adhere to policy, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Administer medications per policy using the 5 rights.
• Perform basic diagnostic and laboratory tests per KP policy and CLIA.
• Assist with routine patient education and self-care instructions.
