Job summary

Circle the City is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant for the Downtown Family Health Center in Phoenix, AZ. You will work closely with nurses, collect vital signs, and manage patient data with confidentiality in a fast-paced clinic.

Responsibilities include assisting with activities across mobile clinics, handling administrative tasks, and coordinating patient transport. Arizona driver’s license and CPR/BLS certification are preferred; bilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an approved Medical Assistant training course.
  • Able to obtain vital signs accurately.
  • Proficient in reading and writing skills in English.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • 1 year of MA experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • CPR/BLS certification.
  • Requires a current Arizona state driver’s license.
  • Bi-lingual communicative skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the Nurse to determine work assignments and priorities.
  • Maintains timely verbal communication for patient care and clinic operations.
  • Enter patient data into the database accurately and promptly.
  • Preserve patient confidentiality and dignity.
  • Weekly inventories; order and stock supplies.
  • Assist patients with personal hygiene as needed.
  • Keep the workspace clean and organized.
  • Escort patients to off-site appointments as assigned.
  • Facilitate patient transportation.
  • Assist with copying, faxing and filing as needed.
  • Handle phone coverage and triage calls.
  • Perform MA duties at mobile clinic sites as needed.
  • Serve as driver for mobile clinic when required.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Job Details

Job Location: Downtown Family Health Center - Phoenix, AZ 85007

Position Type: Part Time

Essential Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with the Nurse throughout each shift to determine work assignments and priorities, as well as communicating the status of delegated task completion and outcome of patient data findings
  • Maintains timely, ongoing verbal communication in order to assure good care of patients and the effective running of the clinic
  • Responsible for collecting, collating and entering required data and information into the applicable database or format in an accurate and timely manner
  • Treats each patient in a manner that preserves and supports patient confidentiality, patient rights, and patient dignity
  • Checks inventories on a weekly basis, orders and stocks supplies
  • Assists any patient with personal hygiene as needed
  • Assures a clean, orderly, and functional work environment
  • Escorts patients to off-site appointments as assigned by supervisor
  • Facilitates patient transportation
  • Assists with copying, faxing and filing as needed
  • Phone coverage and triage of calls when necessary
  • Ability and willingness to perform medical assistant duties at mobile clinic sites
  • Performs additional duties as driver when assigned to mobile clinic
  • Performs other duties as required
Qualifications
Basic Knowledge/Skills:
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology
  • Completion of an approved Medical Assistant training course
  • Able to obtain vital signs accurately
  • Ability to use personal computer for recording patient data /history
  • Proficient in reading and writing skills in English
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment
  • Demonstrated interest in working with an underserved population
Experience
  • 1 years of MA experience.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience in a medical environment highly desirable
  • Bi-lingual communicative skills preferred
  • CPR/BLS certification
  • Requires a current Arizona state driver’s license
