  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Bi-lingual communicative skills preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current Arizona state driver’s license.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the clinical support team each shift to determine work assignments and priorities, and communicate the status of delegated task completion and patient data findings.
  • Maintain timely, ongoing verbal communication to ensure good care of patients and effective clinic operations.
  • Collect, collate, and enter required data into the applicable database or format accurately and promptly.
  • Treat each patient with confidentiality, rights, and dignity.
  • Check inventories weekly, order, and stock supplies.
  • Escort patients to off-site appointments as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Provide phone coverage and triage calls when necessary.
  • Perform medical assistant duties at mobile clinic sites as required.

Summary of Position

Circle the City is a rapidly growing non‑profit dedicated to providing high‑quality, holistic healthcare to people experiencing homelessness in Maricopa County. This clinic benefits from the designation as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and provides comprehensive primary care alongside fully integrated behavioral health and case‑management services to those experiencing homelessness each year.

The Medical Coordinator ensures continuity of client care, serving as an essential link for communication among all team members. The Coordinator assists in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of the physician and/or nurse manager. This is a safety‑sensitive position.

Essential Duties
  • Collaborate with the clinical support team each shift to determine work assignments and priorities, and communicate the status of delegated task completion and patient data findings.
  • Maintain timely, ongoing verbal communication to ensure good care of patients and effective clinic operations.
  • Collect, collate, and enter required data into the applicable database or format accurately and promptly.
  • Treat each patient in a manner that preserves and supports patient confidentiality, rights, and dignity.
  • Check inventories weekly, order, and stock supplies.
  • Assist patients with personal hygiene as needed.
  • Ensure a clean, orderly, and functional work environment.
  • Escort patients to off‑site appointments as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Facilitate patient transportation.
  • Assist with copying, faxing, and filing as needed.
  • Provide phone coverage and triage calls when necessary.
  • Perform medical assistant duties at mobile clinic sites as required.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Obtain vitals, administer vaccinations and injections, perform basic wound care, call on prescriptions, draw blood, and process lab specimens.
  • Collect, verify, and register new patients, scan records to chart, etc.
  • Process referrals, call for appointments, schedule transportation, request consult records, etc.
  • Provide community resources and assist with connecting to support services.
  • Obtain vital records for patients, assist with housing applications, network within the community for housing options, and transport patients to locations for housing assistance or applications.
  • Drive the Mobile Medical Unit and transport patients to the lab, imaging, pharmacy, and appointments.
Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program, and/or alternate allied health training program deemed appropriate by the CMO, Medical Director, and Chief Nursing Officer, with a minimum of one (1) year of related experience demonstrating required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Ability to obtain vital signs accurately.
  • Ability to use a personal computer for recording patient data/history.
  • Proficient reading and writing skills in English.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, challenging environment.
  • Demonstrated interest in working with an underserved population.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bi‑lingual communicative skills preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current Arizona state driver’s license.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Position requires extended periods of sitting and standing.
  • Position requires regular bending and reaching, including patient transfer.
  • Must lift, carry, and push 20 pounds regularly.
  • Must lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • DOT physical exam required.
