Job summary

Sinclair Community College seeks part-time (adjunct) faculty in Mechanical Engineering Technology. The role will include teaching face-to-face courses on the downtown Dayton campus or at area High School Partners, with starting pay at $1,046 per credit hour assigned.

Applicants must reside in Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky or be able to work in one of these states. Sinclair requires transcripts and background checks prior to employment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or MET required.
• Evidence of successful prior teaching experience required.
• Master’s degree preferred (or must be obtained within specified period).
• ABET accreditation experience preferred.
• CAD design, additive manufacturing, or product development experience preferred.
• Experience teaching in a community college environment preferred.
• Minimum three years of relevant industrial/professional experience preferred.
• Ability to present MET topics during interview required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for a community college environment.

Responsibilities

• Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by the department.
• Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning.
• Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections per policies.
• Use appropriate teaching strategies and instructional technology.
• Modify methods to meet diverse student needs.
• Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success.
• Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress.
• Submit final grade rosters by deadlines.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Adjuncts cannot teach more than 12 credit hours per semester.
