Job Title: Meat Department Associate (Part-Time)
This is a part-time position responsible for processing, packaging, and stocking meat products according to Meat Standards. Duties include cleaning work areas, providing customer service, unloading stock, and reloading salvage. When assigned, perform duties of a seafood clerk.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Personal Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills. Willingness to participate in and complete required training. Ability to work with the team to increase customer satisfaction and sales.
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 months related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Language Skills: Ability to read, understand, and write simple instructions and correspondence in English. Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic addition and subtraction with two-digit numbers, using units of American money and weight measurement.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to understand and carry out detailed instructions. Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Certificates and Training: Completion of company training including new hire orientation, food sanitation, safety, food safety, and product knowledge.
- Physical Demands: Regularly stand, walk, handle objects, reach, talk, hear, and smell. Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and 100 pounds frequently, reaching from 6-72 inches. Visual acuity required includes close, color, and depth perception.
- Work Environment: Constantly work in a cool environment (34-36°F), frequently exposed to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals. Occasionally exposed to extreme cold. Noise level is moderate to loud.
