Job Title: Meat Clerk (Part-Time)

Harris Teeter, LLC | Gainesville, VA 20156

This is a part-time position responsible for processing, packaging, and stocking meat products according to Meat Standards, cleaning work areas, providing customer service, unloading stock, and reloading salvage. The role also includes duties of a seafood clerk when assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED, or 1-3 months related experience/training, or equivalent.

Skills and Abilities

• Exceptional interpersonal skills and willingness to participate in training.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate effectively in English.
• Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, handling money and weights.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and solve problems with concrete variables.

Certifications and Training

Complete company training including orientation, food sanitation, customer service, safety, food safety, and product knowledge.

Physical Demands

Must regularly stand, walk, handle objects, reach, talk, hear, and smell. Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds frequently. Vision abilities required include close, color, and depth perception.

Work Environment

Work in a cool environment (34-36°F), frequently exposed to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and extreme cold. Noise level is moderate to loud.
