Job Description: Meat and Seafood Clerk (Part-Time)

This is a part-time position responsible for processing, packaging, and stocking meat products according to Meat Standards. The role includes cleaning work areas, providing customer service, unloading stock, and reloading salvage. When assigned, perform duties of a seafood clerk.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Associates must be at least 18 years of age.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write simple correspondence in English. Ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group settings with English-speaking customers, vendors, and associates.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers, using units of American money and weight measurement.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to understand and carry out detailed but straightforward instructions. Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates and Licenses

Complete company training including new hire orientation, food sanitation, customer service, safety, food safety, and product knowledge.

Physical Demands

Must be able to stand, walk, handle objects, reach, talk, hear, and smell regularly. Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must regularly lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds, reaching from 6-72 inches. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color, and depth perception.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a cool environment (34-36°F), frequently exposed to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals. Noise level is moderate to loud.

Compensation:
