Job summary

La Plata County is seeking a part-time food service worker to prepare and serve meals to clients in accordance with state and federal health standards. The role includes cleaning, stocking, and operating cooking equipment, while maintaining basic records and contributing to a safe work environment in Durango, Colorado.

Experience in food preparation is preferred, and the incumbent may act as Food Service Manager in the absence of the regular administrator.

Qualifications

• Some prior food preparation and/or cooking experience preferred.
• Knowledge of state, federal, and local health standards and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and prepares food as directed.
• Assists in cooking according to prescribed menus and dietary instructions.
• Prepares meals for distribution and serves clients.
• Cleans and maintains work areas.
• Stocks food items.
• Operates cooking and cleaning equipment (pots/pans/blenders/stove/dishwasher/mops).
• Maintains records of activities.
• Serves as Food Service Manager in absence.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Regular and predictable attendance is required.
