Job summary

La Plata County in Durango, CO is seeking a part-time Food Service worker to prepare and serve meals to clients in accordance with state and federal health standards.

The role includes cleaning, stocking, operating a range of cooking and cleaning equipment, and maintaining records. In the absence of the supervisor, you may serve as Food Service Manager. Regular attendance is required.

Qualifications

• Some prior food preparation and/or cooking experience preferred.
• Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques.
• Ability to operate a variety of cooking and cleaning equipment; maintain basic records.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and prepares food as directed.
• Assists in cooking according to prescribed menus and client dietary instructions.
• Helps to prepare meals for distribution to clients and serves food to clients.
• Cleans and maintains work areas.
• Stocks food items.
• Operates cooking and cleaning equipment (pots, pans, blenders, stove, dishwasher, mops).
• Maintains records of activities.
• Serves as Food Service Manager in his/her absence.
• Regular and predictable attendance is required.
