Job summary

Central Texas College seeks a part-time adjunct instructor for the Mathematics Department in Killeen. You will teach up to 19.5 hours per week, delivering courses such as College Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, and Linear Algebra, with a focus on engaging instruction and clear communication.

The ideal candidate holds a Master in Mathematics with 18 graduate hours and brings experience in diverse teaching modalities including in-person, online, synchronous virtual, and dual credit formats.

Qualifications

• Master Degree with eighteen graduate hours in Mathematics.
• Qualified to teach Contemporary Mathematics, College Algebra, Trigonometry, Statistics, Finite Math, Business Calculus, PreCalculus, Calculus, and Linear Algebra.
• One year teaching experience preferred.
• Willingness to teach in-person (traditional), online, synchronous virtual & dual credit courses.
• Demonstrate a high level of verbal and writing skills as well as computational skills.
• Commitment to working with diverse and under prepared student populations.
• Ability to explain complex concepts in accessible ways.
• Knowledge of academic integrity standards and college-level expectations
• Commitment to equity, access, and student success.
• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff.
• Experience using educational technology and learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard)
• Must be efficient with using computers and learning various electronic systems such as Etrieve (electronic forms), Eagle Self Service and Blackboard.

Responsibilities

• Teach the assigned course load and conduct classroom instruction at the highest possible level of efficiency and interest for students.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress in compliance with college policies.
• Utilize instructional technology and the learning management system (LMS) for course delivery and communication.
• Communicate regularly with students regarding course expectations, progress, and resources.
• Ensure that the general and specific objectives defined in the syllabus are accomplished.
• Prepare and administer examinations that cover all materials taught and provide prompt feedback on exam results.
• Perform other duties directed by the Department Chair of the Mathematics Department.
