Job summary

Central Texas College seeks an adjunct (part-time) instructor to support the Department Chair in teaching Mathematics courses required for certificates and associate degrees, and to provide counseling and guidance to students.

Qualified candidates hold a Master’s degree in Mathematics (or 18 graduate hours in Math, with Master preferred) and are prepared to teach Contemporary Mathematics, College Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus and related subjects, including online and dual credit sections.

Qualifications

• Master degree in Mathematics or related field; 18 graduate hours in Mathematics.
• Master in Mathematics from an accredited institution preferred.
• Three years teaching experience in College Mathematics preferred.
• Qualified to teach Contemporary Mathematics, College Algebra, Trigonometry, Statistics, Finite Math, Business Calculus, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and Linear Algebra.
• Willingness to teach traditional, online & dual credit courses.
• Demonstrate a high level of verbal and writing skills as well as computational skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach the assigned course load.
• Conduct classroom instruction at the highest possible level of efficiency and interest for students.
• Certify and complete all documents required for administrative record keeping as required by the Central Texas College Registrar.
• Meet the record keeping criteria and time schedule published in the administrative instructions for record keeping documents, e.g., certification of class rolls, class record books, and final grades.
• Perform other duties directed by the Department Chair of the Mathematics Department
