The position is part-time with no guarantee of ongoing employment. Teaching loads vary by enrollment and staffing; adjuncts are paid per credit hour based on rank (Instructor $935, Assistant Prof $1,047, Associate Prof $1,160, Professor $1,249) and reside in the DMV

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in teaching field or Master’s with 18 graduate hours in teaching field.
• Degrees/courses must be from a regionally accredited institution.
• Mathematics pedagogy degrees/courses may not meet requirements.

Responsibilities

• Teach classes in the designated discipline to diverse students in person, remote, and online formats.
• Develop course syllabi and instructional materials.
• Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress.
• Adhere to NOVA and VCCS policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Maintain current competence in the discipline.
