Job summary

Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) Woodbridge campus seeks adjunct faculty to teach Mathematics (MTH). Courses may be conducted face-to-face, remote, or online, with up to 12 credits in fall/spring and up to 8 in summer. The adjunct appointment does not guarantee ongoing employment and depends on enrollment and staffing needs.

Qualified candidates hold a Master’s in the teaching field or have a Master’s with 18 graduate hours in teaching. A regionally accredited institution is required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in the teaching field, or a master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours of coursework in the teaching field.
• Qualifying degrees and coursework must be awarded by and/or completed with a regionally accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Teach specific classes in the designated discipline.
• Develop course syllabi and instructional materials.
• Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress.
• Adhere to NOVA policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Maintain current competence in the particular discipline or field of specialization.
