Job summary

Northern Virginia Community College in Loudoun seeks an Adjunct Faculty member to teach Political Science, developing syllabi and instructional materials for diverse student populations. Classes may be conducted face-to-face, remote, or online, with workloads up to 12 credits fall/spring and 8 in summer.

The role requires a Master’s in Political Science (or Master’s with 18 graduate hours), effective communication, and the ability to teach day, evening, or weekend sessions.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Political Science or a Master’s with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Political Science
• Ability to teach day, evening or combination of both and weekends
• Experience teaching in higher education or related setting preferred
• Experience teaching in classroom, hybrid, and online formats
• Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive learning environment

Responsibilities

• Teach specific classes in the designated discipline.
• Develop course syllabi and instructional materials.
• Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of NOVA and the VCCS.
