New Visions for Public Schools in New York is seeking a part-time Mathematics Implementation Coach to support the NYC Solves HQIM rollout. This role requires extensive NYC Public Schools experience and expertise in implementation coaching for mathematics.

The position focuses on professional learning, classroom modeling, side-by-side coaching, and data dives that help teachers use Illustrative Mathematics effectively. Travel to NYC schools is expected.

Qualifications

• Masters-level degree in education is required.
• 15–20 years in public education with urban schools experience.
• Minimum of 10 years as instructional coach/consultant.
• Minimum of 10 years in mathematics education.
• Former NYCPS principal and/or superintendent or equivalent senior management in nonprofit education.
• Deep expertise with Illustrative Mathematics; IM PL certification is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate professional learning aligned with district and citywide goals; coach staff using HQIM implementation and a shared coaching model.
• Analyze diverse data (surveys, interim assessments, classroom data, student work) to inform instructional decisions and progress.
• Build trust and collaboration with teachers, school leaders, and district leaders to improve instructional capacity.
