Tom James Company is seeking a part-time Seamstress/Tailor (or Master Tailor) in Phoenix, AZ. You will perform alterations on high-end garments with a focus on precise fitting and quality workmanship.

This on-site role requires fast-paced execution and strong attention to detail. Responsibilities include altering suits, shirts, coats, and dresses, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining professional interactions with clients.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of tailoring experience in a retail or customer-service environment.
• Strong working knowledge of garment construction in men's and women's apparel.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.

Responsabilités

• Perform alterations for a wide range of garments including suits, shirts, coats, dresses, and trousers.
• Adjust sizing and fit (sleeves, waist, hip, and length) ensuring customer-ready final products.
• Maintain professional interactions and accurate daily alteration production records.
• Ensure timely delivery of finished garments and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

Tom James Custom Clothing sales office in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a part-time Seamstress/Tailor or Master Tailor who excels in his or her trade and possesses a talent for delivering the finest tailored clothing with excellent attention to detail.

Employees must be able to work quickly in a fast-paced office environment. Weekly hours for this position are 25. Compensation for this position is $27.00 per hour.

This is a fully on-site position, with attendance required.

Job Summary

Performs alterations as directed for our clients' high-end garments and delivers professionally finished garments on time.

Demonstrates knowledge of fabric and standard tailoring concepts and procedures with quality workmanship for men's and women's garments.

Tailor Job Responsibilities and Duties

• To make adjustments to men’s and women’s suits, shirts, coats, blazers, dresses, and trousers. Included, but not limited to:
• Shorten/lengthen sleeves
• Taper sides of garments
• Lower collars
• Take in/out trousers waist
• Take in/out seat and rise on pants
• Shorten/lengthen trousers
• Taper trouser thighs and foot widths
• Ensure proper sizing of clients
• Manages all interactions with professionalism
• Tracks detailed alteration production daily
• Performs alterations on all garments submitted for alteration, presses finished garment, removes threads, and completes for client-ready
• Completes all work promptly to ensure customer delivery date
• Maintains a clean work environment and maintains all required paperwork related to daily assignments

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of tailoring experience in a retail or customer-service environment
• Strong working knowledge of garment construction in men's and women's apparel and ability to perform high-quality workmanship including hand and by machine
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Self-starter
• Able to perform multiple tasks efficiently with a strong organization of time
