Job summary

Ventura County Community College District invites applications for part-time instructors in Manufacturing Technology at Ventura College. Responsibilities include delivering instruction, advising students, assessing outcomes, maintaining records, and contributing to curriculum development districtwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher and two years of professional experience OR associate degree and six years of professional experience OR the equivalent OR possession of an appropriate California Community College Credential.
• Professional experience is required when the applicant possesses a master's degree.
• The professional experience required must be directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment.
• All coursework must be from a recognized accredited college or university.
• Foreign transcripts information may apply if education was completed outside the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic instruction to students through lecture, lab, or performance courses; assess and develop cognitive abilities, communication skills, and higher order thinking skills among students.
• Advise and instruct students regarding programs of study, other institutions of higher education, lifelong learning resources, and effective study skills; refer students to support services and resources.
• Observe and evaluate student performance in meeting course objectives and student learning outcomes; provide timely feedback to student inquiries.
• Plan and organize instruction according to approved course outlines and student learning outcomes; align with department, college, and district goals.
• Maintain current records of enrollment, attendance, progress, and outcomes; submit data and reports in a timely manner.
• Evaluate and select instructional materials; order materials to ensure timely delivery.
• Revise and update course content in line with new theory and industry developments.
• Update syllabi; collaborate to assess and revise measurable student performance indicators.
• May participate in curriculum development and in department, division, campus, and district meetings.

Education

Bachelor's degree or higher

Associate degree + 6 years experience
