Job summary

Grace Village-AH is seeking a Maintenance Technician I (Part-time) to ensure safe operation and upkeep of the facility, including plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and equipment repairs. The role involves on-site work, responding to work orders, and assisting in cleaning, upkeep, and safety responsibilities.

The job requires physical stamina, the ability to read safety rules and work orders, and willingness to be on-call.

Qualifications

• High school education preferred but not required.
• Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, work orders, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Must be willing and able to work on-call; position may require living on site.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspects and tests electrical equipment, refrigeration units, boilers, appliances, etc.
• Dismantles defective machines; installs new or repaired parts.
• Performs plumbing repairs and minor masonry.
• Repairs and maintains physical structure of the facility.
• Responds to and completes work orders for apartments and common areas.
• Coordinates with vendors and assists with special events.
• Inspects emergency equipment such as alarms and sprinklers.
• Keeps records and assists in preventive maintenance planning.
