Job summary

Hireology is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support the Maintenance Director in maintaining the community's physical plant. The role covers electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, refrigeration and safety compliance across local life-safety codes.

The ideal candidate has at least three years in maintenance, reads and speaks English, and holds a high school diploma or GED. This part-time role offers 24 hours weekly with benefits and potential on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in a maintenance-related role.
• Must read, write and speak English.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Proficient with maintenance tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and building and fire safety codes.
• Experience with senior/geriatric population is a plus.
• Strong customer service attitude.
• Willing to be on call for emergencies (24/7 operations).

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on grounds and facilities.
• Repair plumbing, electrical, carpentry and related systems.
• Maintain safe operating and fire prevention practices.
• Keep the plant in safe, clean condition.
• Replace bulbs and perform high places housekeeping.
• Service heating and cooling systems as per manufacturer.
• Maintain supplies and repair logs.
• Provide transportation for residents as directed by Executive Director.
• Other duties as assigned.
