Job summary

Flagship Facility Services, Inc. in Long Beach, CA is seeking a reliable maintenance representative to perform non-technical general building maintenance and minor repairs.

The role supports our Integrated Facility Management services and focuses on keeping facilities safe and functional. You will work under supervision, handle light maintenance tasks, respond to routine issues, and help ensure excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Performs general building maintenance under close supervision.
• Performs grounds maintenance and minor repair work.
• Loads, unloads, moves materials and runs errands for the project.
• Replaces light bulbs/lamps and cleans fixtures.
• Responds quickly to emergencies and customer concerns.
• Follows safety protocols per OSHA and health regulations.
• Maintains neat appearance and supports customer experience improvements.

Summary/Objective

As a representative for our company, you will be performing non-technical general building maintenance and minor repairs.

Essential Functions

• Performs general building maintenance under close supervision.
• Performs grounds, maintenance, and minor repair work.
• Performs general labor work as assigned by the engineer, including loading, uploading, and moving materials and running errands for the project.
• Replaces light bulbs/lamps and clean fixtures.
• Responds quickly to emergency situations and customer concerns.
• Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives as related to building operations and practice safe work habits.
• Must maintain a neat appearance.
• Continuously seeks opportunities to improve the customer experience.
• Follows safety and sanitation procedures with all guidelines from OSHA, Department of Public Health and Risk Management.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Work Experience

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

1-2 years of experience in commercial facilities and building maintenance.

Work Environment

• Small-to-large work environment.
• Safety glasses required while performing certain tasks.
• Fast paced work environment.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Exposed to a combination of normal office type environments and shop environments.
• Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes, and noise.

Physical Demands

• Constant use of hand when handling and fingering hand and power tools and, when handling small items such as screws, bolts, etc.
• Occasional keying, typing, and writing.
• Constant grasping, pushing, pulling, and rotating body.
• Constant reaching across, above, and outward in work area to fix equipment.
• Frequent pushing and pulling objects weighing over 40 lbs. Items weighing over 40 lbs. must be push/pull by two people or with appropriate machinery.
• Good or correctable vision is required to safely perform all duties.
• Occasional standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, crawling, balancing and beck usage-flexing.
