Job summary

Broward County Government is seeking a part-time Maintenance Worker for the Traffic Engineering Division to perform grounds and facility maintenance, ensure a clean, safe environment for the public and staff, and assist with traffic control and related tasks.

The role requires minimal maintenance experience (three months) and a valid Florida Class E Driver's License, with preferred OSHA and forklift certifications and janitorial/graffiti removal experience. Work is on-site in Broward County.

Qualifications

• Requires three months in maintenance or closely related experience.
• Possess and maintain a valid Florida Class E Driver's License.
• Prefers OSHA Safety Certification and Forklift Operator Certification.
• At least one year of janitorial experience is preferred.
• At least one year of graffiti removal experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains grounds and landscape areas to be presentable, clean, and safe.
• Performs facility maintenance to keep environments clean and safe for the public and staff.
• Cleans offices, break rooms, restrooms, halls, and other areas; moves furniture as needed.
• Interacts with the public and County employees to provide directions and resolve issues.
• Sets out temporary traffic control devices to ensure safe traffic flow at worksites.
• Maintains logs documenting activities and equipment usage.
• Cares for landscape and construction equipment to extend lifespan and reduce downtime.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
