Job summary

The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for Maintenance Worker (Part-Time) in the Traffic Engineering Division. The role focuses on graffiti removal, maintaining grounds and facilities, and providing a clean, safe environment for the public and County staff.

The ideal candidate will have at least three months in maintenance, a valid Florida Class E driver's license, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather.

Qualifications

• Requires three (3) months in maintenance or closely related experience.
• Possess a valid Florida Class E Driver's License.
• Preference: OSHA Safety Certification and Forklift Operator Certification.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Maintains grounds and landscape areas to keep them presentable, clean, and safe.
• Performs a variety of facility maintenance work to ensure a clean, safe environment for the public and County staff.
• Cleans offices, break rooms, restrooms, halls, and related spaces to provide a sanitary environment.
• Moves furniture and related items to relocate or rearrange work stations or set up for meetings and events.
• Interacts with the public and County employees to provide directions and resolve issues.
• Sets out temporary traffic control devices to ensure safety and efficient traffic flow.
• Prepares log sheets to document work activities and equipment usage.
• Maintains landscape and construction-related equipment to extend its life and reduce downtime.
