Job summary

OPCO Skilled Management seeks a Maintenance Assistant for a part-time role in a care environment. You will oversee maintenance tasks, ensure sanitary and safe conditions, and support laundry services in accordance with applicable regulations and center standards.

You will collaborate with residents, nurses and staff to address maintenance requests, perform preventive work, and maintain accurate records of parts and fuel supplies, while keeping the center well-functioning and compliant.

Qualifications

• High School diploma.
• 1–2 years of supervisory experience in a commercial establishment with knowledge of laundry/housekeeping/maintenance procedures.
• Minimum of 2 years work experience in long-term care preferred.
• HVAC experience.
• Maintenance experience.
• Healthcare experience preferred but can be trained if needed.

Responsibilities

• Supervises Environmental Services personnel and daily work in assigned areas, managing budgets and staffing while solving interdepartmental issues.
• Executes preventive maintenance programs and maintains records to ensure high functional standards.
• Maintains center profile and history with complete documentation of maintenance activities and parts used.
• Performs routine maintenance and repairs in compliance with regulations and codes.
• Coordinates with residents, nurses, physicians and staff regarding requests and service improvements, with timely follow-up.
