Job summary

Armada Staffing Group is seeking a skilled machinist for a Columbus, OH manufacturing facility. You will set up and operate manual and CNC machines, reading engineering drawings to achieve precise dimensions and tolerances.

Responsibilities include selecting tooling, performing turning, milling, drilling, and grinding, inspecting parts with micrometers and calipers, and maintaining quality records in a safe, organized shop environment. Part-time schedule ~20–30 hours per week, $25–$27/hour.

Qualifications

• Experience setting up and operating machine shop equipment, especially manual lathes and mills.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and calculate dimensions and tolerances.
• Familiarity with micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.

Requirements

• Work experience: Experience setting up and operating machine shop equipment, especially manual lathes and mills.
• Technical skills: Ability to interpret blueprints, calculate dimensions and tolerances, and use micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.
• Education: Technical or vocational machining training is preferred; equivalent hands-on experience is welcome.
• Additional qualifications: CNC experience, programming or editing, and CAD/CAM familiarity are preferred.
• Must be able to work safely and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
