Job summary

Employ Partners in Canton, GA is seeking a skilled Machinist to set up and operate CNC equipment, including mills, lathes, and routers. Pay is $21.00-$50.00 per hour, based on experience, with temp-to-hire and potential for direct hire, and full-time status.

Duties include reading mechanical blueprints and specs, loading programs and tooling, setting offsets, and performing part inspections with calipers, micrometers, and CMM devices to maintain quality.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • CNC machining experience required.
  • Ability to read blueprints and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC equipment, including mills, lathes, routers, and other applicable machinery.
  • Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, part prints, engineering specifications, work travelers, and setup sheets.
  • Load CNC programs, tooling, fixtures, and materials for production.
  • Set and adjust tooling, fixture, work, and tool-wear offsets.
  • Perform machine setups ranging from standard setups to complex tooling, workholding, and program validation based on experience.
  • Monitor machining operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain production and part quality.
  • Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, and/or CMM equipment.
  • Apply GD&T knowledge appropriate to experience level.
  • Experienced Machinists may modify CNC programs and work with G-code, feeds and speeds, canned cycles, turning, drilling, tapping, boring, circles, and arcs.
  • Troubleshoot machining, tooling, setup, and production issues.
  • Assist with first-part inspections and verify parts meet quality requirements.
  • Accurately complete production and quality documentation.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other operators as experience allows.
  • Support training, cross-training, 5S, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.
