Job summary

Ashland University Bookstore in Ashland, OH, is seeking a part-time, 10-month staff member to assist the Lyceum Café Manager with daily production and customer service.

You will produce multiple specialty coffee drinks, help with ordering, stocking, monitor food safety, sanitation, and maintain the cash register while tracking student labor hours.

Anticipated start date is 08/03/2026; the schedule is Monday–Friday, about 34 hours per week, with prorated vacation, sick leave and holiday pay.

Qualifications

• Food Safety certification or state certification or willing to certify.
• Strong math skills and Excel proficiency.
• Authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship available.

• Must be available 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.


• This is a part time, 10-month position (August-May). Position works an average of 34 hrs. per week.


• Hands-on position assisting the Lyceum Café Manager with daily production needs for our customers.


• Production of multiple specialty coffee drinks.


• Assist with ordering, stocking, monitoring food quality and sanitation of the facility.

Required Qualifications

• Food Safety certified or state certified in food protection/Level 2 or willing to certify.


• Efficient with math and Excel.


• Applicant must be currently authorized to work in the United States. Ashland University will not sponsor or take over sponsorship for an employment visa.

Preferred Qualifications

• Provide a high level of customer service.


• Ability to problem solve on the fly.

Physical Demands

• On your feet most of the day with the exception of the limited administrative duties.
