Job summary

Witchcraft Heights Elementary School in Salem is seeking a Part-Time Lunch Paraprofessional for the Salem Public Schools district. You will supervise students during lunch periods, accompany students to lunchrooms and restrooms, and help maintain classroom and cafeteria safety and order.

Starting immediately, up to 3 hours per day, with a pay rate of $29.08 to $31.08 per hour. Reports to the Building Principal; typical duties include assisting with lunchroom activities and enforcing behavioral

Qualifications

High School Diploma is required.
Ability to work with adults and children in a positive manner.
Ability to supervise large groups of students.
Must be dependable and punctual.
Ability to regularly lift a minimum of 10 pounds and up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

Supervises students in the cafeteria during lunch periods and related times.
Escort students to lunchroom, restrooms, lockers and nurse's office as needed.
Dismiss students from lunch in an orderly fashion.
Assist students with lining up and monitor behavior when receiving lunches.
Direct safe movement of groups to and from recess, including walk-throughs of parking/bus loading areas.
Encourage appropriate recess activities and maintain an orderly recess environment.
Assist staff in lunchroom cleanup and wash tables.
Ensure play equipment is used safely and report repairs.
Report accidents/incidents to supervising teacher promptly.
Additional duties may be assigned.
