Job summary

Salem Public Schools' Bentley Academy Innovation School in Salem, MA is seeking a Part-Time Lunch Paraprofessional for SY 2025-2026. The role focuses on supervising students during lunch and assisting with safe, orderly transitions and recess activities.

The lunch paraprofessional will implement positive behavior expectations, monitor cafeteria lines, escort students to facilities, and support staff with cleanup and safety duties, while lifting up to 25 pounds as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to supervise large groups of students.
• Ability to lift 10–25 pounds as necessary.
• Must be dependable and punctual.

Responsibilities

• Supervises students in the cafeteria during lunch periods and related times.
• Escort students to lunchroom, restrooms, lockers and nurse's office as needed.
• Dismiss students from lunch in an orderly fashion.
• Assist students with lining up and monitor behavior when receiving lunches.
• Direct safe movement of groups of students to and from recess area.
• Encourage students to engage in appropriate recess activities.
• Assist staff in lunchroom clean-up and general cleanup between lunch periods.
• Ensure play equipment is used safely and report any repairs needed.
• Familiarize students with behavioral guidelines during lunch and recess.
• Report all student accidents/incidents to supervising teacher promptly.
• Additional duties may be assigned.
