Job summary

Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical High School in Charlton, Massachusetts seeks an ENGLISH LT SUBSTITUTE TEACHER for a part-time assignment starting October 1, 2026. The substitute reports to the Main Office before 7:10 AM and to the assigned area, following the teacher’s lesson plans and maintaining accurate attendance with an absentee list.

Requirements include a High School Diploma (DESE Educator Licensure a plus) and authorization to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Familiarity of rules and regulations pertaining to fire and safety drills posted in the area.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the Main Office prior to 7:10 AM, and then reports to the assigned area before school begins; secures necessary assignments, rosters with ID numbers, and sub-folder.
• Studies and follows the teacher’s lesson plans.
• Records accurate pupil attendance according to stipulated directions and contacts the Main Office with an absentee list of students.
• Strives to attain a regular disciplined pattern of classroom operation, including no cell phone use. Reports on student discipline concerns to the Assistant Principal's Office.
• Monitors the use of all school equipment and materials. Reports safety concerns.
• Reports all accidents to the Principal.
• Notifies the Nurse of student illnesses or accidents.
• Ensures the shop area/classroom is neat and orderly at the end of the day.
• Provides a daily summary to the Teacher of work covered, student behavior etc.
• Performs any other duties as assigned.
