Job summary

Yarmouth Elementary School is seeking a part-time long-term substitute Band Teacher to provide beginning band instruction to fourth- and fifth-grade students. The position runs November 19 through December 22, Monday-Friday, from 9:00 a.m.

to 12:30 p.m. The successful candidate will provide engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction, establish positive relationships, maintain a supportive learning environment, and help students develop foundational skills on instruments.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching instrumental music or beginning band.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Knowledge of beginning instrumental instruction.
• Ability to create a positive, encouraging experience for young musicians.

Responsibilities

• Provide beginning band instruction to fourth- and fifth-grade students.
• Prepare and deliver lessons; teach instrument technique and care.
• Support music reading and ensemble skills; assess student progress.
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and school staff.
