Job summary

Yarmouth Elementary School in Maine is seeking a part-time long-term substitute Band Teacher for grades 4 and 5, from November 19 to December 22, Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The teacher will provide engaging beginning band instruction, establish positive relationships with students, maintain a supportive learning environment, and help develop foundational skills in instrument technique, music reading, and ensemble participation, while communicating with families and staff.

Qualifications

• K-8 endorsement; teaching certification with a music endorsement preferred.
• Experience teaching instrumental music or beginning band is preferred.
• Ability to create a positive, encouraging experience for young musicians.

Responsibilities

• Provide beginning band instruction to fourth- and fifth-grade students.
• Prepare and deliver lessons; teach instrument technique and care.
• Support reading and ensemble skills; assess student progress.
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff.
