Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Montgomery is hiring for a part-time cleaning role responsible for maintaining the men’s locker room and assigned areas. Typical hours are 8:00 am – 12:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and be prepared to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED and YMCA safety trainings.

Experience is not required, but knowledge of cleaning methods and safe chemical use is important. The position emphasizes reliability and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
• Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment.
• Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the Y is attractive and clean by completing all duties on the daily schedule and maintaining upkeep of assigned area and equipment.
• Sanitize showers, saunas, and clean empty lockers in the men’s locker room.
• Wet-mop and dust, remove trash, wash windows, vacuum, wax floors, and check for maintenance problems.
• Replace soap, paper towels, and other supplies.
• Operate related motorized and non‑motorized equipment.
• Record and report all needed repairs; repair as directed.
