YMCA Southcoast in Wareham, MA is seeking a Lifeguard to maintain a safe and welcoming pool environment. The role involves surveillance, emergency readiness, and positive member engagement, with seasonal to routine shifts.

The position emphasizes health and safety compliance, accurate record-keeping, and timely reporting as part of YMCA standards. The candidate must hold current lifeguarding credentials (YMCA or Red Cross), CPR/AED and First Aid, with the ability to obtain Oxygen Administration

Formación

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• CPR for the Professional Rescuer with AED and Basic First Aid certifications.
• Current YMCA Lifeguarding or Red Cross Lifeguarding certification; within 90 days required for YMCA Lifeguarding.
• Ability to obtain Oxygen Administration certification within 30 days of hire.
• Maintain certification level of physical and mental alertness.

Responsabilidades

• Maintains constant surveillance of the pool and pool areas.
• Maintains knowledge of emergency procedures and responds per YMCA policies.
• Provide timely and accurate reports and follow-ups after emergencies.
• Accurately follow health and safety rules and guidelines for pool areas.
• Convey information on programs and schedules to members.
• Maintain records required by YMCA and state agencies.
• Perform equipment checks and ensure availability of required equipment.
• Perform chemical testing and take corrective action as needed.
