Job summary

YMCA of Greater Hartford is seeking a part-time Lifeguard to maintain a safe, clean aquatic environment for members and participants in Plainville, CT. You will monitor pool activity, enforce rules, and respond to emergencies under the Aquatics Director’s supervision.

The role requires lifeguard certification (YMCA/ARC), CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Oxygen Admin and First Aid, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends. Join a team dedicated to member safety and service.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Current YMCA or ARC Lifeguard, CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certification (infant, child and adult), Oxygen Admin and First Aid certification.
• Maturity, responsibility, positive values and sincere interest in working with people.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of every individual at the YMCA pool and facility.
• Enforce pool rules and related regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitary condition of premises.
• Maintain accurate records as required by CT Health Department Sanitary Code.
• Learn and review all emergency procedures.
• Attend staff meetings and in-services as required.
