Job summary

The YMCA of the East Valley in Redlands, CA is seeking a Lifeguard II to ensure pool safety, surveillance, and exceptional member service. This part-time position supports YMCA operations under the Program Director and promotes the YMCA mission while delivering high-quality service to members, participants, staff, and the community.

Responsibilities include active pool surveillance, emergency response, records, and participating in trainings.

Qualifications

• CPR/AED, First Aid and Emergency Oxygen administration certifications required/maintained
• Current YMCA Lifeguard or equivalent (Lifeguard needed within 90 days)
• Ability to maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness
• Lifeguard skills demonstrated per YMCA standards

Responsibilities

• Maintain active surveillance of the pool area.
• Review and apply emergency procedures; respond to emergencies.
• Maintain pool and aquatic area safety rules and records.
• Keep accurate records and reports.
• Attend staff meetings and required trainings.
• Maintain confidentiality and support risk management.
