YMCA of Superior California is hiring a lifeguard to maintain pool safety, supervise the deck, and promote member engagement in line with YMCA policies. The role requires vigilance, quick response to emergencies, and adherence to safety standards.

The position includes certifications maintenance, regular training, and opportunities to utilize YMCA facilities. A focus on teamwork and reliable record keeping is essential for daily operations in a busy aquatic environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 15.
• Certifications: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid.
• Current YMCA lifeguarding or Red Cross Lifeguarding with YMCA Lifeguarding Certification within 60 days of hire.
• Oxygen Administration certification (required within 30 days).
• Ability to maintain certification readiness and lifeguard skills per YMCA standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintains active surveillance of the pool area.
• Reviews emergency procedures and responds to emergencies according to YMCA policies.
• Maintains positive relationships with members, participants and staff.
• Applies safety rules for pool and aquatic area; maintains records as required by YMCA or Health Dept.
