Job summary

YMCA of the East Valley in San Bernardino, CA is seeking a Lifeguard I (Under 18) to support YMCA operations by delivering safe, engaging aquatics programs and ensuring member safety.

This part-time role requires lifeguard skills, current CPR/AED and first aid certifications, and the ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, or special events, with compliance to YMCA policies.

You will maintain records, participate in trainings, and uphold the YMCA's mission while serving the community.

Qualifications

• Certifications: Basic life support or professional rescuer CPR/AED, first aid, and emergency oxygen administration.
• Current YMCA Lifeguard or equivalent (YMCA Lifeguard needed within 90 days of employment).
• Ability to maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness.
• Must demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain active surveillance of the pool area and apply safety procedures.
• Deliver high-quality customer/member service to participants and families.
• Participate in staff meetings and required trainings.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.
• Support risk management and safety procedures.
