Job summary

HealthFitness in West Hartford, CT is seeking a part-time/on-call Lifeguard at our client site. You will monitor aquatic facilities, ensure a safe and friendly environment for members and guests, and enforce rules as needed.

Responsibilities include performing daily chemical testing for three bodies of water and a hot tub, attending staff meetings, and assisting with towels, water machines, and facility inspections to maintain safety.

Qualifications

Must be at least 16 years old.
American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certification.
Meet HealthFitness Fitness and Skill standards.
Strong customer service and ability to interact with people of all ages.
Proficient in MS Office and member management systems.

Responsibilities

Monitor and ensure safety and well-being of patrons using the aquatic facilities.
Enforce and explain rules as necessary.
Respond appropriately to any emergency.
Perform chemical testing and documents results for three bodies of water and a hot tub four times a day.
Attend all required staff meetings and training.
Ensure that needs of the aquatic center are being met by folding towels; cleaning; filling water machines; and inspecting the Aquatics Facility to ensure safe environment for members.
Maintain a professional attitude.
Other duties as needed/assigned.
