Job summary

Dedham Health & Athletic Complex is seeking lifeguards for our aquatics team. No lifeguard certification is required to apply; we will train you. The role pays $16.25/hour with flexible part-time hours and a free gym membership at our Health Club facility.

Work indoors year-round with the option to work outdoors during the summer. Lifeguard training and certification are available, and this position offers great resume value while joining a friendly team.

Qualifications

• At least 16 years old.
• Strong swimmer.
• Responsible and dependable.
• Comfortable talking with people.
• Able to stay calm in an emergency.
• Willing to learn.
• Able to work as part of a team.
• No lifeguard certification required; training provided.
• Previous lifeguard or customer service experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Watch the pool and ensure safety.
• Enforce pool rules.
• Prevent accidents before they happen.
• Respond quickly to emergencies.
• Perform CPR or first aid when needed.
• Keep pool area clean and safe.
• Answer questions for members and guests.
• Report unsafe conditions or equipment issues.
• Attend team meetings and lifeguard training.

What You'll Do

As a lifeguard, you will:

Watch the pool and make sure everyone is safe.

Make sure guests follow the pool rules.

Help prevent accidents before they happen.

Respond quickly if there is an emergency.

Perform CPR, first aid, or a water rescue when needed.

Help keep the pool area clean and safe.

Answer questions and help our members and guests.

Report any unsafe conditions or equipment problems.

Attend team meetings and lifeguard training.

What We're Looking For

You should be:
