Job summary

County of DuPage Care Center is seeking a part-time Life Enrichment Aide to engage residents in leisure activities on an assigned basis. The role involves direct interaction with residents, planning and facilitating group and individual activities, and supporting care plans through appropriate interventions.

This position is not eligible for benefits or paid time off. A High School Diploma or GED and at least 6 months of experience in recreation, education, or work with seniors are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 6 months experience in recreation, education, or working with seniors or the developmentally disabled.

Responsibilities

• Assists to determine the leisure needs of residents.
• Plans and conducts unit-based, group and 1:1 leisure activities.
• Provides communication tools and interventions to meet care plan goals.
• Decorates assigned areas for seasons, holidays, or events to support well-being.
• Gives individualized attention and encouragement in activities.
• Assists with in-house transportation, feeding, hydration and other personal needs.
• Maintains and stores equipment and supplies for activities.
• Documents attendance and progress toward goals for activities.
• Participates in fundraising activities related to the department.
• Contributes to facility-wide quality improvement initiatives.
