Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our clinical team. The role involves preparing patients for exams, obtaining vital signs, and documenting health information.

You will perform lab procedures, assist physicians during procedures, and administer medications per orders within scope of practice. The position requires completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program and an active LPN license with BLS certification (to be obtained if not already).

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
• Current LPN license in state of practice with BLS certification or to obtain within 45 days.
• Strong communication and patient care abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and room patients for exams, record vital signs and health information.
• Perform lab procedures using aseptic technique and infection control.
• Assist physicians with procedures and surgeries as directed.
• Administer medications per orders and manage IV therapy within scope.
• Provide patient education and coordinate referrals and follow-ups.
• Document patient information accurately and maintain clinical records.
• Prepare exam rooms, stock supplies, and maintain equipment.
