• Ability to arrange materials in alphabetical and numerical order.
• Skill in customer service.
• Knowledge of the principles of intellectual freedom as they apply to public libraries.
• Available to work between 8-20 hours per week, including evenings and Saturdays.
• Able to lift light objects (<25 lbs) and push library carts up to 200 lbs with accommodation.
• Criminal background check required for those 18+.

Responsabilidades

• Sorts and returns library materials to their proper place on the shelves.
• Reads shelves for correctness of arrangement of materials.
• Shifts shelves where necessary.
• Moves Library material carts as needed.
• Checks for missing and/or damaged materials.
• Fills and routes holds.
• Searches shelves for specific materials as assigned.
• Performs simple clerical tasks such as photocopying and labeling.
• Assists with opening and closing routines, as needed.
• Performs various tasks assigned by professional Library staff.
• Maintains neatness in public service areas.
• Works at the service desk during meals/breaks, as needed.
